Here are a few simple ideas to keep your family and your home in good spirits this weekend. Happy Halloween!!
- Protect your house and plants from fire hazards. Never leave candle-lit jack-o-lanterns unattended. A safer solution is battery-operated tea lights.
– Add landscape lighting to your pathways and driveway to create a safer walkway for trick-or-treaters. There are solar options that are easy to install and don’t require electric cords or wiring.
– Keep trick-or-treaters safe while out in the dark. Use reflective tape on their costumes. Provide blinking lights that attach to their Halloween bags. Flashlights are good for kids that are old enough not to leave them behind as they gather their goodies. Glow sticks work, but only for short periods of time.
– Keep your home safe for guests. Clear away hoses, rakes, wet leaves. Make sure steps are illuminated. Make sure pets are somewhere safe where they won’t get spooked by doorbells and strangers.
